Jim Ervin, Packet Head Network's principal consultant, is a seasoned network and security engineer with over three decades of networking and security expertise. After graduating from Kent State University with a degree in Computer Science, Jim joined the US Navy and discovered his passion for computer networking. After the Navy, he moved to Virginia where he worked with companies such as National Geographic, the FCC, Gannet News and Dimension Data. He achieved his Cisco CCIE, #5592 Routing and Switching certification in February, 2000.

He returned to Youngstown in 2002 and became a founding partner of Data Recovery Services (DRS) and built a Cisco Premier Partnership serving customers in the government, health, manufacturing, and private sector specializing in network design and installation with an emphasis on customer service and support. In 2015, DRS was acquired by Involta where he transitioned into a Cloud network/firewall engineer role, achieved his Palo Alto Firewall PCNSE certification and later moved into their Carrier services sector.

Jim is proud to unveil his latest venture, Packet Head Networks LLC and is eager to continue providing customer-focused network and security solutions.
